In response to the malnutrition problem, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, in partnership with the Local Government of Dimataling, implemented the Supplementary Feeding Program in the Municipality of Dimataling with a total budget of P8,013,600.00.

The said Supplementary Feeding Program in the Municipality of Dimataling basically provided hot lunch and snacks to the 2,226 Day Care Children for 120 days starting on November 6, 2016 to April 20, 2017.

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) partnered with the Women Empowerment Movement-Rural Improvement Club (WEMRIC) of Dimataling and local bakeshop around Dimataling. The WEMRIC Dimataling provided the Day Care Centers with necessary food supplies such as cassava, banana, and camote suman for snacks and the Bakeshop owners delivered bread to respective DCC.

Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) is the provision of food in addition to the regular meals to children currently enrolled in the day care centers as part of the DSWD’s contribution to the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) program of the government.

The feeding program was aimed at improving and sustaining the nutritional status of target children-beneficiaries and improving their knowledge, attitude and practices of children, parents and caregivers through intensified nutrition and health education. ###
